Home for the Holidays USO Camp Show

On December 2, 2019, Bob Hope USO presented the Home for the Holidays USO Camp Show at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles for a classic variety show in true legendary comedian, Bob Hope fashion. Hosted by DC Legends of Tomorrow star, also known for his portrayal of Superman himself, Brandon Routh, the audience was entertained by musical performances from country music star Rodney Atkins, the 300th Army Band, and the world famous USO Show Troupe. Nick King, 92-year-old World War II veteran, delighted the audience with his classical piano stylings.

This year, we honored DC Entertainment with the Spirit of Hope Award and Northrop Grumman Corporation with the Patriot Award in recognition and appreciation for their continued commitment to Bob Hope USO and keeping our service members connected to family, home and country, throughout their service to the nation. We thank our honorees for remembering our troops and their brave families, and for supporting the work of Bob Hope USO! The namesake of our organization, Bob Hope was a legendary American entertainer, actor, showman, comedian and philanthropist, and loved to make the troops laugh. We still do this today, nearly 80 years later. Thank you to DC Entertainment and Northrop Grumman Corporation for helping us commemorate the legacy of Bob Hope and bringing the USO back to Tinsletown this holiday season.

Special appearances were made by Linda Hope, daughter of Bob Hope, Gen. George Casey, USA (Ret.), Chairman of the USO and the 36th Chief of Staff of the United States Army, as well as Lt. Gen. John Thompson, Commander, Space and Missile Systems Center, Air Force Space Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base, Jim Lee, Chief Creative Officer and Co-Publisher and Sandra Evers-Manly, Vice President Global Corporate & President, Northrop Grumman Foundation.

A rousing welcome home celebration for Bob Kurkjian, USO West Region President, recently returning from a seven-month deployment to Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan included a fun performance from the USC Marching Band.
