Mobile USO

Acting as a USO center on wheels, our Bob Hope Mobile USO offers service members in our community the same great support that is found in our six Bob Hope USO centers. Our Mobile USO travels to events and programs we and host and support to provide a place for troops to relax during down time. The Mobile USO provides USO services to areas without a brick and mortar USO center, as well as supports our centers and the community in times of crisis.

The Mobile USO offers large screen televisions, video game consoles and serves as a delivery service for military care packages. Our Bob Hope Mobile USO is a part of Feed the Troops movement, as we serve meals directly out of the mobile unit. The Mobile USO, along with our volunteers, are the ‘Force Behind the Forces’ working to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation.

Mobile USO Story: On May 17, Bob Hope USO at Ontario Airport was expecting a busy day with Marines leaving from ONT and using the USO as a staging area before boarding their flights. After an incident at March Air Reserve Base, inbound flights full of Marines were diverted to Ontario Airport. Suddenly the center went from full to overflowing with over 2,000 Marines. Volunteers stayed to work double shifts, Ontario International Airport provided pizza and sent their employees to help serve, and other businesses such as Starbucks and Stater Bros graciously donated food to keep the hungry Marines happy and full before leaving the centers. Our Mobile USO showed up to help serve food and bring resources to restock the center. It was an amazing day to see the community come together to support our troops!
